What is the CSSTA

The CSSTA improves worker safety by created standards for safety training courses.

This alliance is driven by the people who create training programs and deliver the training.  Standards and programs can be created by Employers, Trade Associations, Unions, and Safety Training Companies.

Before we existed, standardized and approved safety training was a major problem for employers and employees all across Canada.  Employees were at risk, as many safety topics had no reliable course. In some cases a  worker for one company would take a 30 minute online course, another company others would take a two day in class course.   Site owners and employers had an extremely difficult time telling if the training was appropriate. Employers require a way to reliably gauge as to what training program was appropriate.

We are always looking to develop new standards for industries and legislative jurisdictions.

Currently we are looking for more partners in all industries including:

Oil and Gas Industry

Power Generation (Coal, Natural Gas/Renewables)

Industrial

Mining

Transporting Industry

Airline Industry

Hospitality Industry

Construction (Industrial/Commercial/Residental)

Utility Workers

Agriculture and Agri Food

Manufacturing

Tourism and Travel

Forestry

Healthcare

Public Service

What if a standard or a regulatory training program already exists?

If a need is adequately met by industry, we welcome that process.  However we fill in the gaps where no standard exists.  In other cases, association and regulators welcome our standard process, as it relieves them of what is otherwise regarded as a burden for them.  We seek parity with the Provincial and Federal Governments for any existing OHS standards.
